On the morning of April 16, 2019, Professor Uwe W Schulz of The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts was invited to visit Tongji Zhejiang College. This was a return visit by Professor Uwe W Schulz after TZC delegation’s Lucerne visit last year. Deputy-President Ziping Huang and the relevant persons in charge of the Sino-German Center warmly welcomed Professor Uwe W Schulz.
During the meeting, Professor Uwe W Schulz showed great interest in the subject setting and international exchanges between the two universities. In-depth discussion was held involving foreign language curriculum setting and credit recognition in the exchange program. At the same time, there was a heated discussion on the different characteristics and requirements of applied universities and research universities.
After the meeting, Professor Uwe W Schulz was accompanied by Ziping Huang and visited the library, and experimental center in the college.
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a university of applied sciences that is supported by the six cantons of Central Switzerland. With 6,200 students attending Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, almost 4,600 students attending continuing and executive education programs, and 416 new projects in research and development, it is the largest educational institution in this region, the heart of Switzerland.
