          Ms. Jia Rujie won the bronze prize of the "Zigang Cup" Jade Carving Works Exhibition

          2019 China "Su Yi Cup" International Arts and Crafts Exposition and the 11th China "Zigang Cup" Jade Carving Works Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "Art Fair") at Suzhou International Expo from April 19 to 22, 2019. Ms. Jia Rujie from the Jewellery Department in Tongji Zhejiang College took the work Owl to participate in the exhibition, and was awarded the bronze prize.


          The current Art Fair was hosted by the China Arts and Crafts Association, the China Cultural Industry Association, Jiangsu Provincial Culture and Tourism Department, Suzhou Municipal People's Government, and Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Industry Association, as well as the Publicity Department of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee. This year, Zigang Cup has reached its 11th year (2008-2019). The local exhibition event founded by the original Suzhou local jade carving industry has become an international exhibition that is influential in both domestic and foreign jade carvings industry.


          The exhibition area of the Art Fair consists of more than 1,500 square meters of jade carving works concentrated display area, 25 special display areas with 36 square meters of each to display jade carving master works, 20 jade carving studio works display area, academic jade carving works display area and foreign jade carving artist works area. More than 1,000 works were displayed at the show. Among them, the exhibition area of foreign artists exhibited more than 50 works of jade carving artists from the United States, Britain, France, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Romania, Mexico, Costa Rica and other countries.

          Ms. Jia Rujie has been dedicated to the design and production of jade ornaments based on “craftsmanship”. The Chinese ancestors have worshipped birds since ancient times and the “owl” was considered a bird of the gods in ancient times. In the West, the owl is also considered to be a symbol of wisdom. According to Ms.Jia, her exhibit works of the “Owl” was the combination of the East and the West culture. The material of the"awl" is Alashan Agate, 18K gold and garnet. It is specially integrated Chinese traditional jade ornaments with fashion elements.
